Shara

Approachable by car or by bus, Shara lies approximately 65 km up the Indus from Leh to the south-east. The 1.5-hour car journey follows one of the most exciting and picturesque roads in the greater surroundings of Leh. Especially once having passed the village of Karu – where you have the opportunity to have lunch and refresh yourself with a cup of tea or coffee – the road lowers to river level and countless locations with mesmerising views alongside the road emerge.

Transport

Shara is 70 km towards North from Leh. Tourists can get there by three means i.e Bus, Taxi and electric bikes. Bus service has a fixed time, summer timing is going from Leh to Shara 4:30 pm and coming back next day 7:30 am and in winter 4 pm from Leh to Shara and next day coming back to Leh at 8 am, fare of the bus is Rs. 120 per person for one route. Taxi charges from Leh to Shara lies between 2100 to 2500.
